LIMITED 3 YEAR WARRANTY

Contemporary Research warrants most products to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Should such a defect occur, Contemporary Research will repair or replace, at their option, the defective product at no cost for parts or labor. This warranty extends to product purchased directly from CR or an authorized dealer.

The Contemporary Research SSV-DX Display Express PC product carries a 6 month limited warranty.

Warranty DOES NOT cover:

  • Repairs or replacements due to misuse, accident, lightning damage, water damage, unauthorized repair, or other causes not within the control of Contemporary Research.
  • Any equipment that has altered or missing serial numbers
    Expendable accessories such as batteries.
  • Any modifications to the hardware or software not authorized by Contemporary Research.
  • Reception or transmission problems caused by signal conditions, Internet connection, or other communications systems outside the product.
  • Problems related to OS updates and issues, if Contemporary Research software has been hacked or damaged by malware or otherwise.
  • Damages caused during shipping

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Contemporary Research provides technical support for its products Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm CST by calling 1-888-972-2728. To open a support ticket click here. If it is determined that the product needs to be returned for service or exchange, a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number MUST be obtained. Contemporary Research is not responsible for products received without an RMA number and may reject such products.

Please be prepared to provide the following information when requesting an RMA:

  • Name of the Authorized Dealer the product was purchased from. If one is not provided, we reserve the right to contact the dealer on record on your behalf.
  • Model number of the device being returned.
  • Serial Number of the device being returned.
  • Nature of the problem, if known.
  • If the unit is under warranty, the original purchase order number is required.

IN-WARRANTY REPAIR and SHIPPING POLICY

Products in-warranty will not be charged a bench fee, parts or labor. If it is determined that the problem is not covered under the limited warranty, we will notify the user and inform them of service or replacement alternatives that are available on a fee basis. Products returned for in-warranty service shall carry the unexpired portion of the warranty.

Customers are responsible for inbound shipping charges. Contemporary Research will ship products back via UPS, USPS, or Federal Express ground at our expense. Expedited shipping charges will be the responsibility of the customer.

OUT-OF-WARRANTY REPAIR and SHIPPING POLICY

Products that are older than 3 years (out-of-warranty) may be returned for repair. A purchase order is required for repair and shipping charges. All end-users should contact their authorized dealer to return a product.

Customers are responsible for inbound and outbound shipping charges. Contemporary Research will ship products via UPS ground unless otherwise specified by the customer.

Some products older than 5 years may not be repairable. If that is the case Contemporary Research will contact the customer before any repairs are made.

ADVANCE REPLACEMENT POLICY

In the event of an “out-of-the-box” failure, or in the case of special circumstances, Contemporary Research may elect to issue an advance replacement within 30 days of purchase date, proof of purchase is required. If an advance replacement is required, please contact CR tech support at (888) 972-2728 to request an advance replacement RMA. It will be necessary to issue a purchase order for the replacement equipment when requesting the RMA. Credit for the advance replacement hardware will be issued when the defective product is received, less any applicable repair and/or restock fees.

RETURN FOR CREDIT – RESTOCK FEE

During the first 180 days from date of shipment, Contemporary Research will allow the Authorized Dealer to return product purchased. All end-users should contact their authorized dealer to return a product. Refunds will only be given in the form of a credit memo and expire 1 year from the date of issue. A 15%-50% restocking fee will be charged for each item returned based on physical condition, age, and if items are in original packaging with all accessories. Items older than 180 days are not eligible for credit return. Please contact our sales department to obtain an RMA.

REPAIR TURNAROUND TIME

Repairs are normally performed within 5 working days. Products sent for repair via overnight carrier will be treated as a priority. We do not offer loaner units while products are being repaired.
