When it comes to integrating video projectors and displays, having great tools to tune is critical. Luckily, at Contemporary Research, professional HDTV tuners are a specialty. 2021 is a landmark year for Contemporary Research (CR), marking the 25th year of manufacturing integrator friendly controllable AV tuners. CR introduced its first AV tuner, the ICC-STA in 1996 and has not stopped in their dedication to their tuner legacy. The team at CR has always looked to their integrators, consultants, and users in the field to determine which features are important additions to make to their newest tuner models and 2021 releases are no exception. Born from the industry need for a smaller, low-profile, non-rack mountable, controllable tuner comes the ATSC-mini HDTV Tuner.
Designed for versatility, the ATSC-mini is full function HDTV tuner that can receive ATSC, NTSC, and clear QAM cable channels and is able to decode MPEG-2 and H.264 video. The unit features HDMI output and can scale video from 480p to 2160p with full-time audio available via HDMI, as well as variable-level analog stereo audio outputs. One of the first things users notice about the ATSC-mini is its compact size. Housed in a new, smaller low-profile enclosure, the unit with built in mounting wings can be mounted flush to walls or displays.
The integrator-friendly ATSC-mini HDTV Tuner may be controlled locally via front panel buttons or wireless and wired IR commands. Full two-way RS-232, IP Telnet, and UDP control is available as well. The unit also offers power of ethernet (POE) for projects that do not have the space or ability to use the included wall wart power supply. The ATSC-mini HDTV Tuner is the first POE controllable tuner from Contemporary Research.
Contemporary Research has established a reputation for bringing superior tuner technology to the market–a 25-year legacy that ATSC-mini HDTV Tuner continues. Its ability to tune analog and digital channels in ATSC, NTSC, and clear QAM formats, accept MPEG 2 and MPEG4/H.264, and its compact size are just some of the many rich features users can enjoy from this universal device.
