New Front Panel Control Functions for HDTV Tuners
For over 10 years Contemporary Research has manufactured the most reliable HDTV Tuner in the AV Industry. The most recent version of the tuner, the 232-ATSC 4K offers video output scaling up to 4K, the ability to decode channels up to 1080p, and the option for IP streaming via Ethernet output. Now, with firmware version 2.14, users will have the ability to access new front panel control functions previously only available through the use of the HD2-RC IR remote control.

For years, integrators have controlled up to 9 232-ATSC series tuners from one RS-232 using a "daisy-chain" RS-232 cable. It's an effective solution, but the cable can be complex to wire - and if one tuner must be removed, the chain is broken.

The importance of scaling in a “not exactly perfect” video world
In a perfect video world, scaling is not required. For example, broadcast-quality video has exactly the right resolution, correct number of lines, and a refresh rate of precisely 59.94 or 29.97 Hz.

Fix Windows 8 or 10 to download S37 file to 232-ATSC 4 and 232-ATSC+1 Tuners
If you use Windows 10 or 8 to copy the S37 file to the 232-ATSC 4, ATSC-SDI 4, 232-ATSC+1 and ATSC+SDI tuners, you may get what appears to be a false error message, such as File Tool Large or No Destination.
